The Ethernet 241 when installed in a Papercut evironment allows users to quickly authenticate at the device by simply tapping a badge or entering a PIN code to release paused prints. rfIDEAS Magstripe or Proximity card readers can be used with the 241 as well as select external keypads for entering PINs.
The 241 has two Ethernet connectors designated as the Network port and Printer port, one USB port for card reader or key pad connection and a RS-232 DB9 connector for legacy rfIDEAS readers. A 5 volt port is used to supply power to the unit via the supplied power adapter.
